This test kit is not suitable for you if you think you have been exposed to HIV within the last 72 hours, you have any symptoms, you have tested positive for chlamydia or gonorrhoea in the last 6 weeks, or if you have tested positive for syphilis or HIV in the past.
If you think you have been exposed to HIV within the last 72 hours, you should seek URGENT medical advice from your local sexual health clinic, GP or Accident & Emergency, as HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) may be recommended.
If you have symptoms, you should NOT use this service. You require a face to face assessment at your local sexual health clinic or GP.
If you have recently tested positive for chlamydia or gonorrhoea, you should contact the service that did this test for further advice.
If you have tested positive for syphilis in the past (even if you received treatment), this test kit is not suitable because the syphilis test cannot tell the difference between past and current infection i.e. it will always produce a positive result. You should attend your local sexual health clinic for further advice.
If you are known to be HIV positive or have recently tested positive, you should seek medical advice from your local sexual health clinic or GP.
If you have tested positive for syphilis or HIV in the past, you can purchase one of our test kits that does not test for these infections.
