About us
In November 2023, Hallo Healthcare Group confirmed the successful sale of its 1,054 LloydsPharmacy high street and community pharmacy branches to new owners, saving 6,500 branch jobs and ensuring pharmacy services remain widely available across the UK.
The LloydsPharmacy brand remains part of the Hallo Healthcare Group. LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor and LloydsPharmacy.com continue to trade as usual with exciting plans to expand our digital offering further in the coming months.
Our vision
Our vision is a world where patients access healthcare wherever and whenever they need it. In this digital age, waiting lists and lengthy queues don’t fit in with the way people live their busy lives. We believe that patients should be able to speak to a doctor or pharmacist whenever they need us and that access to healthcare should be on-demand and at the patient’s convenience.
We are leading the way in providing expert, safe, online healthcare.
Our story
We started helping patients in 2002 as DrThom.com. Our online service was revolutionary and one of the very first of its kind in the world. The safety of our patients has always been our top priority and we were one of the very first online healthcare organisations to register with the UK government-appointed independent healthcare regulator preceding the Care Quality Commission.
We joined the LloydsPharmacy family in 2008 and have now treated almost 2 million patients and issued 3 million prescriptions.
Not only do we offer our service direct to patients, we also work closely with the NHS, playing an important role in supporting the wider healthcare system. We have worked with a number of NHS hospitals and CCGs and are particularly proud to be part of SHL, a home testing service offered in partnership with Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust to patients in London.
What we do
Patient-centred healthcare has always been at the core of our service. We originated as a doctor-led online service promoting easier and compassionate access to sexual health services. By removing the requirement for face-to-face care, we improved healthcare access for people seeking judgement-free, confidential medical advice.
We now offer a range of treatments from home test kits and travel medicines through to weight management and migraine treatment. We also offer home testing services and online assessments for certain conditions and provide reliable and free medical advice on our website.
The future
We are working hard on several exciting projects that will allow us to provide our service to more people in more places and to treat an increasing range of conditions. We are passionate about online healthcare and are committed to helping our patients live healthier lives.
