Malaria Tablets

Malaria is a serious disease, spread by mosquitoes, and is widespread in many tropical and subtropical countries. There is no vaccination, so it is highly recommended that you take malaria tablets if you are visiting an area at risk. You can order malaria tablets through our online service without having to see a doctor face to face.

About Malaria Tablets

Anyone visiting a country in which malaria is widespread should take malaria tablets to protect themselves. You can check Fit for Travel to find out whether your holiday destination is on the list.

Even if you or your parents are originally from a country in which malaria is prevalent, you will still be at risk if you now live in the UK, and so you will still need tablets. In fact, most people from the UK who get malaria catch it while visiting friends and relatives.

When used together with DEET, or other methods to prevent being bitten in the first place, malaria tablets are 90-100% effective at protecting against malaria. However, if they are used incorrectly, you may not be protected at all.
