Two pen (eight week) supply option
Following a consultation, a clinician may prescribe up to two pens if this is clinically appropriate as part of your treatment plan. The treatment, strength, quantity and order of use will be determined by the clinician. Completing a consultation does not guarantee that treatment or a two-pen supply will be prescribed.
Whether a two-pen supply is appropriate, including the strengths prescribed, will be decided by the clinician following your assessment. If you develop side effects or your health changes before starting the second pen, contact the clinical team for advice.
There are two ways a clinician may prescribe a two-pen supply, where clinically appropriate:
- Same-strength supply – Two pens at your current prescribed strength.
- Different-strength Mounjaro supply – For some patients, a clinician may prescribe two pens at different strengths as part of a planned dose increase or reduction. Your clinician will determine the strengths and the order in which they must be used.
These are one-off supplies and do not renew automatically. A further consultation and clinical assessment will be required before any additional supply. Please check the FAQ section for more information.

Can all patients get a two-pen (eight week) supply?
Both new and existing patients may be considered for a two-month supply following a consultation, if a clinician confirms it is clinically appropriate. A clinician must confirm that a two-pen supply is clinically appropriate following your consultation. Completing a consultation does not guarantee you will be prescribed treatment.
If you are joining us from another provider, a clinician will need to verify your treatment history before deciding which dose is appropriate for you. -
Can I contact a clinician before I place an order?
Yes. If you have questions about treatment, you can message our clinicians before placing an order via your account. For messages received before 4pm, you will usually receive a response the same day.
-
What will a clinician consider before prescribing a two-pen (eight week) supply?
You will not be prescribed a two-pen supply until a clinician has confirmed that it is suitable for you. Whether a two-pen supply is suitable for you will depend on factors including:
- Weight
- BMI
- Any weight-related health conditions
- Current treatment and dose
- Treatment history
Your clinician will review how long treatment should continue and which dose remains appropriate for you.
-
Who can use the first consultation offer?
The offer applies to new patients only and is available on their first Weight Loss consultation.
-
How do I check my BMI?
BMI stands for ‘Body Mass Index’. It is calculated by dividing a person’s weight (kg) by their height (metres squared).
Higher BMI scores can be used to determine the chances of you developing long-term conditions such as heart disease. However, people from Asian, Black African, African-Caribbean or Middle Eastern ethnic backgrounds may see these conditions develop from a lower BMI, so this should be factored in when BMI is calculated.
BMI should not be used to diagnose symptoms as there are limits to using it. For example not all weight is fat, which disadvantages people with a muscular build.
Medically speaking, you are 'overweight' if you have a BMI of more than 25. So, you might be advised by your GP to make lifestyle changes to try and lose weight.
“While there are limitations to measuring BMI, measuring it can be a first step to determining your risk for any further weight-related diseases.” - Dr Bhavini Shah
You can use this NHS tool to calculate your BMI.
-
What should you eat when using weight loss treatments?
It is important to stick to a calorie-controlled diet when using weight loss treatments for the best possible results. Reduce sugars and fats and focus on lean proteins, whole grains and fruit & vegetables.
-
What is the best solution for weight loss?
There is no ‘best solution’ for weight loss – what works for one patient might not work for another. Generally, making healthy lifestyle choices (like reducing portion sizes and doing more exercise) will help weight loss regardless of any other treatments you might be using.
To get the best results while on a weight loss injection or pill, it’s recommended that you follow a calorie-controlled diet and engage in regular exercise.
-
Can you buy weight loss pills over the counter?
You cannot buy weight loss pills over the counter: they are only available with a prescription.
-
How much do two-pen supply options cost?
Prices will depend on the prescribed treatment and the dose. A clinician will decide which treatment and strength are appropriate, taking your preferences into account.
