Take the packs back-to-back without a break, including during your period.

It is very important to take the pill at the same time daily. If you are more than 3 hours late, you will not have contraceptive protection.

How does Noriday work?

Noriday is a form of progestogen-only mini pill. Its active ingredient is norethisterone, which changes the environment in your womb. This makes it harder for the sperm to reach an egg during ovulation and alters the lining of the womb so that a fertilised egg cannot develop. Noriday is an effective means of contraception.

How long Noriday takes to work depends on when you begin taking the pill. You’ll be protected from pregnancy straight away if you take Noriday on days 1-5 of your period.

If you start taking Noriday after day 5 of your period, it’ll take 2 days to work, so you’ll need to use condoms for 2 days.

How effective is Noriday?

Used correctly, Noriday can be up to 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. However, if you are vomiting or have severe diarrhoea you may not be protected against pregnancy. This may mean taking 2 pills in one day.

If you do not take it within 3 hours of the usual time, you will not be protected against pregnancy.
